Drone delivery company picks Oklahoma for delivery service and U.S. factory

TULSA, Okla. - A drone delivery company based in Ireland, Manna Air Delivery, plans to launch the service in Tulsa, and build a factory to produce it’s own proprietary delivery drone. The company plans an announcement Wednesday, with a demonstration flight of a drone capable of carrying an 8 lb. payload directly to homes and businesses. The drone drops the delivery in a bag, lowered by a tether without the drone landing.

Oklahoma bill allowing composting of human remains, vetoed by Gov. Stitt

TULSA, Okla. - The Oklahoma Legislature has approved a bill to allow funeral directors to offer a composting method for human remains that’s already used in some other states. In a recent update, House Bill 3660 was issued a veto by Gov. Kevin Stitt citing “moral and human dignity” in question regarding post-mortem use of bodies as compost. Two-thirds vote within the Oklahoma State House and Senate is the only way to overturn a Governor’s veto.

Storm destroys home, damages several others near Bristow

BRISTOW, Okla. - A tornado left damage on a path more than a mile long Northwest of Bristow, destroying one home, and causing damage at least two others. Several barns and sheds were destroyed, but no injuries were reported. The residents in the home that was destroyed took shelter in a neighbor’s storm cellar. Friends and family members of the people affected were helping start cleaning up tin twisted in tree tops, and glass and insulation scattered across yards.
