I’ve been a journalist since 1990, telling stories of people, places, events, and things. I do what I do because there’s ink in my blood, and that’s why I get such great joy from it.
In my career I’ve worked for newspapers, magazines, radio, and online publications. I’ve held jobs from rookie reporter to newsroom leader, from manager of seven weekly papers to editor of a statewide magazine. And I made a living for years as a freelance writer.
I hail from the South but my experiences have taken me across the country and to Europe. I belong to the Society of Professional Journalists, served as a board member and president of my pro chapter and was appointed this year to national Membership Committee.
I have a cat. I keep bees. I drive a stick-shift. Any questions?
