Kirkland, Palantir Launch AI Tool Targeting Fund Formation Work Original

Kirkland & Ellis has launched a multi-year partnership with Palantir Technologies Inc. to develop custom artificial intelligence solutions, starting with a tool to make private equity fundraising more efficient. The law firm and the AI company said Thursday that they developed a proprietary platform designed to “transform” private equity fundraising. It’s the first product launch since Kirkland last week said it was committing $500 million to building its own proprietary AI platform.

Vinson & Elkins Sued for Malpractice Over Texas Real Estate Deal

A Japanese forestry company’s US arm has accused Vinson & Elkins of legal malpractice, alleging the Big Law firm botched contractual language in a major real estate deal in Texas. Sumitomo Forestry America Inc. and its affiliate, SFA JPI Top Holdings LLC, filed a lawsuit against the firm June 1 in Dallas County district court, seeking to compel arbitration over claims that the firm’s negligence cost it more than $30 million.
