Weather The big weekend warming trend won't last very long. In the wake of some afternoon rain showers Friday, areas of fog will be a concern for travelers overnight and early on Saturday. Otherwise, a pleasant and mild Saturday is on tap for the region with afternoon temperatures rising into the upper 50s. The rain-free weather will stick around into Saturday night and Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon may be a different story as a strong cold front slides southward through the region.

Weather The weekend will start dry but may not end that way. The warming trend that got underway Thursday will continue as the work week draws to a close on Friday. Temperatures will quickly rise into the lower 60s by early afternoon, but an approaching weather system is likely to trigger some showers during the second half of the day. A gusty thunderstorm can't be ruled out, although the risk for a storm may be higher to the south.

Weather 40s are in store for Thursday, 50s for Friday and 60s for Saturday. Temperatures stayed on the cold side Wednesday, with readings falling shy of the seasonal average by about 15 degrees. However, the January-like air is not going to stick around for much longer. A warm front will lift through the region overnight, which will ensure that Thursday morning will be less harsh than the last couple of mornings.
