STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — New York City is restoring dozens of after school seats at a New Brighton community center following public backlash to recently announced cuts. Earlier this month, the Advance/SILive.com reported that the Goodhue Center was set to see its total number of after school programming seats slashed 80%, from 300 to just 60, at the start of next school year, according to the Children’s Aid Society, the organization that operates the Center.
