It signals some progress in a post-Covid mission: to transform forsaken offices into—for the most part—apartments, warehouses, or their component parts. The metro office vacancy sits at 20%, a dip from first quarter’s 20.1%, according to the second-quarter report from Newmark, a commercial real estate firm headquartered in New York.
