ABSTRACT Educational simulations provide safe environments for the training of hands-on skills. Teacher Moments (TM) is a web platform that delivers classroom simulations for novice teachers. Nevertheless, current simulations lack automated feedback, which can lead to the internalisation of incorrect approaches. In response to this need, we applied speech analysis and the automatic identification of teacher strategies to two datasets from classroom simulations.

While many have been forced to take a pause due to recent cold temperatures, Crestwood High School remains abuzz with education and activity. Faculty and students at the school could not be stalled by the wintry weather, and have already begun utilizing Flexible Instruction Days, or FIDs, to allow students to continue classes at home when the weather doesn’t allow for in person schooling.

Students in the Mountain Top area had a busy start to the school year in the Crestwood School District. Faculty and students from the elementary and secondary campuses started off the 2021-22 school year on Sept. 7, and this academic year is full of promise for the student body.
