Some Sacramento families left sleeping in cars and parking lots after change to housing program

A transition in Sacramento's Step Up on Second shelter and transitional housing program has left about 20 to 25 families displaced in the last 24 hours, forcing some to sleep on the street, in parking lots, or inside their cars. Among those displaced is 11-year-old Keith Smith, who is now living in a car with his sister, their disabled mother, and all of their belongings.

Parkinson's Foundation raises awareness, hope in Sacramento

Saturday morning, the Parkinson's Foundation in Sacramento worked to shine a light on the families impacted by Parkinson's disease and the support available across the region.For retired broadcaster Jeff Bell, the cause is deeply personal. Bell, whose voice was heard for years on KFBK radio in Sacramento and later on KCBS radio in San Francisco, said he first noticed troubling changes while still working on the air."I knew something was off," Bell said.
