ST. JOHNSVILLE, NY (WNYT) — A Fulton County Sheriff’s sergeant shot a dog after it rushed toward him outside a St. Johnsville home, according to investigators. The Sheriff’s Office said deputies were sent at 6 p.m. Monday, June 22, to State Route 29 in Oppenheim for a report of a suspicious person trespassing on private property.

ST. JOHNSVILLE, NY (WNYT) — A Fulton County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a dog Monday night, after the dog rushed towards the deputy, per sources. Sheriff deputies responded to State Route 29 in St. Johnsville Monday for a call about a suspicious person. Once deputies arrived on scene, a dog, released by a family member from a home, rushed towards the deputy. Sources confirm this is not the first incident sheriff deputies have had with this dog before.

CORINTH, NY (WNYT) – New legislation would sharply increase prison time in child homicide cases, according to Sen. Jim Tedisco, Assemblyman Matt Simpson and Saratoga County District Attorney Brett Eby. The three said they want a new state measure called Joycelynn’s Law. The proposal would raise the maximum sentence for criminally negligent homicide of a child to 20 years to life from the current 1 and 1/3 to 4 years.
