Former Riverside City College baseball player Grant Gray’s path to professional baseball didn’t end when he went undrafted in the 2026 MLB amateur draft. Instead, he found another opportunity to go pro. Gray signed with the Chicago Cubs as an undrafted free agent after not hearing his name called during the draft. He joined the organization following a stint with the Trenton Thunder of the MLB Draft League. Gray officially signed with the Cubs on July 24, following his time with the Thunder.

Consistency became the defining trait of Riverside City College pitcher Jorge Rodriguez throughout the 2026 season. That consistency ultimately earned him Orange Empire Conference Pitcher of the Year honors after helping lead the Tigers to a second-place finish in the conference and a playoff appearance.

Students got a closer look at candidates for the upcoming local general municipal and primary elections during the Riverside City College Students in Politics (SIP) club’s “Candidate Series.” About 20 people attended the forum on April 28, which was held in Quad Room 201. The forum hosted candidates from multiple local races, which included the Riverside County Superior Court, Riverside County Board of Education and Riverside City Council Ward 6.
