Caregiver burden is an essential component of long-term care not evaluated within assisted living facilities (ALFs). This study assessed caregiver burden among caregivers of older adults enrolled in a home-based primary care program, comparing burden among caregivers of ALF residents vs patients cared for at home. Caregivers completed a survey with the Short Form Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI-12) via the patient portal; 76 of 364 caregivers completed the survey (20% response rate).
