Abstract Belief updating is thought to be impaired in schizophrenia, leading to delusions. The neural substrates underlying belief updating are unknown, in part due to a lack of appropriate animal models and behavior readouts. We generated mice bearing a schizophrenia-associated point mutation in Grin2a (Grin2aY700X+/−) and developed a computationally trackable foraging task to assess belief-driven decision strategies in mice.

BACKGROUND: Mammalian cells have developed multiple intracellular mechanisms to defend against viral infections. These include RNA-activated protein kinase (PKR), cyclic GMP-AMP synthase and stimulation of interferon genes (cGAS-STING) and toll-like receptor-myeloid differentiation primary response 88 (TLR-MyD88). Among these, we identified that PKR presents the most formidable barrier to oncolytic herpes simplex virus (oHSV) replication in vitro.

Osseo-Fairchild's Chumas puts pen to paper

OSSEO (WQOW) -Osseo-Fairchild football standout Griffin Chumas put pen to paper on Thursday to play Division III football at Carroll University. Chumas was joined by friends, family and faculty for a signing day ceremony at Osseo-Fairchild High School on Wednesday. He played tackle on both sides of the ball last season for the Thunder. Carroll was the right fit for Chumas because he loves the campus, and he's excited to experience a new city.
