No. 1 overall pick Azzi Fudd scored a career-high 24 points to fuel the Dallas Wings to a big road upset of the New York Liberty, 91-76, on Sunday, May 24. The game was close at half before Fudd came out firing in the third quarter by dropping five 3-pointers and scoring 17 points, which is tied for the second-most points scored in a quarter by a rookie in WNBA history. It's easily the best offensive game of the young pro career of Fudd, who had yet to top 12 points in a game prior to Sunday.

Alex Ovechkin has seven games left this season to score three times and become the NHL's all-time goal scorer. Why it matters: The current career record of 894, set by Wayne Gretzky, was one of those sports records that many thought could never be broken — and Ovie's on the verge of doing it at age 39. Zoom in: Gretzky scored 80 goals after turning 35, per the Washington Post. On his 35th birthday in 2020, Ovechkin was still an incredible 189 goals away from the record.
