Old clip of warehouse explosion in China shared as US airstrike on Iran

A video showing a large explosion is circulating on social media with false claims it shows a recent airstrike on Iran. One post with more than 1,500 likes has overlaid text on the clip saying: “Shocking video from Bushehr, Iran: Massive violent explosion following a US airstrike.” While there have been recent reports of on Bushehr, this video actually shows explosions at a warehouse in Tianjin, China, in August 2015.

The false claim that the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan is building 40,000 new homes exclusively for Muslims is recirculating online. One post says: “I just found out that London Mayor Sadiq Khan, under the Islamic housing plan, is building 40,000 new homes for Muslims only, to be near mosques and halal shops." Full Fact has debunked versions of this claim many times before, and a spokesperson for the Mayor of London previously told us that it’s “completely false”.

Our verdict False. 26 June was the hottest day in June on record, beating the 1976 heatwave record, but not the hottest day overall since then. The Met Office said it is “fundamentally incorrect” to suggest a comparison between two dates shows global warming isn’t real.
