FARGO — An estimated 700 fans packed Broadway Square on Wednesday night for a World Cup viewing party, watching the United States defeat Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32. The turnout and result had local soccer enthusiast Ben Schneweis beaming. “I’m so proud of Fargo-Moorhead for showing up," said Schneweis, the president for American Outlaws Fargo. "We had no idea. Concordia unveils naming rights, floor design for $2.5 million Memorial Auditorium renovation

MOORHEAD — The basketball game court at Memorial Auditorium will have a new name and a new design as part of the facilities projected $2.5 million in upgrades. Concordia College unveiled to the new floor design this week to The Forum, and also announced naming rights for the new game court. “We went with a design element that is pretty traditional with a little modern flair," said Concordia athletic director Rachel Bergeson.

More than 50 years later, Bill Heward returns to Fargo with Indianapolis Clowns, Banana Ball

FARGO — Bill Heward was part of the Indianapolis Clowns in the 1970s as player and then player/coach. He remembers playing in Fargo and surrounding communities in the Red River Valley with that version of the barnstorming baseball travel team. Heward played against teams like Fargo Glass and Paint, Fargo Idso Sales, the Crookston (Minn.) Reds and the Jamestown (N.D.) Elks during the summer of 1973. “The baseball was fantastic," Heward said Saturday night at Newman Outdoor Field.
