TLDR - industries evolve from generalist to create an industry to specialisation as the industry gets more sophisticated, venture and technology are no different. Listening to the Freakonomics podcast on Specialization (using the American spelling as the podcast was from a couple of Americans) and was really engaged in the theory of specificity around job function, looking at the lens of American Football long snappers and their importance in the game and on teams.

I’m all about networks. Though it took me a while to realise their importance and how to foster them. In fact, the first 5 years of my career probably felt like I was a character in the hangover. I was knocked down, rebounded, over and over again and somehow ended up working on interesting projects and learning a boat-load.
