Canopy structural diversity mediates the effect of climate on primary productivity in forests
|
Abstract Canopy structural diversity varies systematically with climate and species diversity across boreal, temperate, and tropical biomes. Yet, how this latitudinal variation affects forest productivity—particularly the role of structural diversity in mediating effects of climate on productivity across biomes—remains unresolved.

Protective Effects of Hyperoside on Type 2 Diabetes Through the Regulation of Pancreatic β-cell Function
1 Introduction Type 2 diabetes, the predominant type of diabetes mellitus, is characterized by insulin resistance and β-cell dysfunction. More than 90% of diabetes cases are type 2 resulting from defective insulin action or insulin resistance [1]. T2D usually develops due to insulin resistance in peripheral tissues rather than in pancreatic β-cells, with increasing incidence and mortality rates, affecting about 500 million people worldwide [2].
Host susceptibility spectrum and diagnostic challenges in pediatric nontuberculous mycobacterial disease: a case series of five patients with literature review
Abstract Objective: Pediatric nontuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infections are frequently misdiagnosed due to their heterogeneous clinical presentations, which can mimic pulmonary tuberculosis, common respiratory diseases, or other infectious conditions depending on the site of involvement.

A feedback mechanism from prostate cancer cells to macrophages, reinforced by STAT1, regulates tumor progression and resistance to radiotherapy
Abstract The resistance to radiotherapy of prostate cancer is driven by interactions within the tumor microenvironment, particularly between prostate cancer cells and tumor-associated macrophages, however the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. In this study, we found that STAT1 enhanced the transcription of critical glycolytic enzymes, leading to an increase in lactate secretion from prostate cancer cells.

Mild‐Condition Upcycling of Polyolefins Enabled by Micropore Confinement in Zeolites
The catalytic upcycling of polyolefin waste into valuable chemicals offers a sustainable strategy to mitigate plastic pollution and advance resource sustainability. Selectively cracking the inert C─C bonds in polyolefins under mild, co-reactant-free conditions remains a fundamental challenge due to their chemical stability and poor diffusivity.

Fabricating supramolecular pre-emergence herbicide CPAM-BPyHs for farming herbicide-resistant rice - Nature Communications
Abstract Controlling weeds before their emergence is crucial for minimizing their impacts on crop yield and quality. Bipyridyl herbicides (BPyHs), a class of highly effective and broad-spectrum herbicides, cannot be used as pre-emergence herbicides because they can be absorbed and inactivated by negatively charged soil after application.
Integrated analysis of MIOX gene in prognosis of clear-cell renal cell carcinoma - Cell Death & Disease
Abstract Clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is a highly aggressive malignancy that originates in the kidney. It often exhibits a limited response or can be refractory to a wide range of anti-cancer therapies, including tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and immune checkpoint inhibitors. Ferroptosis is a form of oxidative, iron-dependent cell death characterized by lipid peroxidation.

Analysis of Rolling Force and Friction in Hot Steel Rolling with Water‐Based Nanolubrication
1 Introduction Green manufacturing and its sustainable development have become increasingly important in manufacturing industries. Hot steel rolling is one of the typical examples for such development.[1] Friction and wear are significant and inevitable during hot steel rolling, leading to high energy consumption of rolling mill and severe damage to work rolls.[2] Therefore, effective lubrication is essential for hot rolling of steels.

Amorphous zeolite imidazole framework derived hierarchically porous, multi-catalytic active site bifunctional catalysts for zinc-air batteries
Amorphous zeolite imidazole framework derived hierarchically porous, multi-catalytic active site bifunctional catalysts for zinc-air batteries Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks (ZIFs) are widely used as cathode catalysts of zinc-air batteries (ZABs) due to their ultra-high porosity and abundant Metal-N-C structure. However, the microporous structure of ZIFs prevents the catalytic potential from being well utilized.

Band Structure Engineering Induced Ultraviolet-Visible Emission Bulk Carbon Nitride with Near‐Unity Quantum Yield for Information Security
Abstract In the past few years, the photoluminescence (PL) efficiency of carbon nitride materials (CNM) in solution has been greatly improved. However, the PL efficiency of bulk CNM is still very limited. Here a bulk CNM of 2,5,8-triamino-tri-s-triazine (Melem) with efficient ultraviolet–visible emission is obtained via band structure engineering by simply modifying the calcining atmosphere in the solid-state reaction.
Pathogen and human NDPK-proteins promote AML cell survival via monocyte NLRP3-inflammasome activation

Furthermore, AML and MDS patients suffer frequent infections because of disease-related impaired immunity. However, the role of infections in the development and progression of AML and MDS remains poorly understood.

Computational Ghost Rotational Doppler Metrology
Abstract We present a scheme for measuring a rotational Doppler frequency shift with only a single-shot measurement. Our protocol benefits from the combination of computational temporal ghost imaging and heterodyne detection of the rotational Doppler effect. Specifically, by multiplexing a series of elaborately designed ring-shaped spatial patterns, we map the temporal rotational Doppler signal into the spatial domain and thus can collect the Doppler signal with a camera in a single-shot exposure.
