RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Heat is the big weather story through Thursday, with triple-digit heat possible across western Nevada. Lake Tahoe and Sierra locations will also be toasty, with highs warming into the mid to upper 80s. A trough of low pressure will dip close enough to cool temperatures Friday through Sunday. Some showers and a few T-storms are possible on Friday, especially in the mountains and afternoon hours.

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A ridge of high pressure will build off of the West Coast over the next few days. This will bring a warming trend that will push valley temperatures back into the 90s by the end of the work week, topping out in the mid-90s by the weekend.
