Energy Constraints Determine the Selection of Reaching Movement Trajectories in Macaque Monkeys
Results The main goal of this study is to provide an in-depth investigation into the factors influencing the acquisition of specific trajectories for 2D visually guided reaching movements in a constrained biomechanical context. Two rhesus monkeys took part in the experiment, utilizing their right arms to perform a sequential reaching task. The setup and the trial structure of this task are depicted in Figure 1 (see also De Haan et al., 2018).
A Behavioral Receptive Field for Ocular Following in Monkeys: Spatial Summation and Its Spatial Frequency Tuning
Materials and Methods Animals Two male, adult rhesus monkeys (No, Pe) were used in the present study. On each animal, a surgical procedure was performed under isoflurane anesthesia. A Teflon-coated three-turn magnetic search coil (catalog #AS 632, Cooner Wire) was sutured to the sclera under the conjunctiva of one eye (Fuchs and Robinson, 1966; Judge et al., 1980) to measure the orientation of gaze (eye-in-space) with the electromagnetic search-coil technique (Skalar; Robinson, 1963).
