What was your first job as a journalist?

Working for a major hotel chain.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To be incredibly fortunate to be able to travel and write about all the wonderful places I've seen and experiences I've had.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I prefer to have PR companies and destinations to invite me on trips so that I can write about them in multiple outlets both print and online

Why did you become a journalist?

I was lucky enough to meet my husband who was already a travel writer and it was easy to me me, who had always been a writer, into one also.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

The one from whatever my last trip was...

What's your favorite drink?

Fireball

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

On my treadmill

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That I'm a travel agent....
