2026 kits and jerseys: The colors of the World Cup in the Bay Area

As you might have heard by now, the Bay Area will host six World Cup matches at Levi’s Stadium. For the first five, the region will welcome players and fans from eight different countries: Qatar, Switzerland, Austria, Jordan, Paraguay, Turkey, Australia and Algeria. Many Bay Area cities, particularly Santa Clara, are likely to be covered in multicolor jerseys representing these teams.

Paraguayan fans break the bank to see their team play in the World Cup Original

It’s been a long 16-year wait for Paraguayan soccer fans, and many are now willing to spend thousands of dollars to see their team play in the World Cup in California. “Fútbol [soccer] is part of our passion,” says Viviana Figueredo, who lives in South Jordan, Utah. Figueredo, who has already been at Paraguay’s training session in San Jose, is planning to be in town for all of her team’s three games in California, driving or flying back and forth each time.

Google Maps changes Levi’s Stadium name for the World Cup Original

If you’re looking for Levi’s Stadium on Google Maps, you’re in for a surprise: The Santa Clara venue is now called San Francisco Bay Area Stadium on the popular mapping platform. It’s the same name FIFA is using for the stadium in all World Cup-related communications. Levi’s Stadium will host six World Cup matches, starting with Qatar vs. Switzerland on June 13.
