“Scream 7” is here.The latest installment in the horror franchise that began with 1996’s Wes Craven–directed masterpiece “Scream” is finally here, after much controversy and behind-the-scenes hiccups. This time, the action shifts to Pine Grove, Indiana, where repeat survivor Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) is now happily married (to Joel McHale) with a family, including a headstrong teenage daughter named Tatum (Isabel May).

could wind up having one of the franchise’s best openings at the box office, according to some recent projections. Scream 7 is being released in United States theaters later this month by Paramount Pictures. Directed by Kevin Williamson, the new Scream sequel will see Neve Campbell once again reprise her iconic role as Sidney Prescott. Per Deadline, Scream 7 is currently tracking to have a “mid” $30 million opening.
