Gareth Porter’s Biography
Gareth Porter is an independent investigative journalist and historian who writes on national security issues. He has contributed regularly to Inter Press Service since early 2005 on US policy toward and relations with Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan and Syria. He received the Gellhorn Prize for journalism in 2012 for his coverage of the war in Afghanistan. Porter was Saigon Bureau Chief for Dispatch News Service in 1971 while working on his Ph.D dissertation. He is the author of several books, including, most recently, "Manufactured Crisis: The Untold Story of the Iran Nuclear Scare".
