President Biden wants 70% of eligible adults in the U.S. to get at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine by the Fourth of July. Governor Whitmer announced the same vaccination goal for Michigan. Michigan has worked hard to get as many eligible people vaccinated as possible. The state quickly vaccinated the first eligible groups like the elderly, healthcare workers and people at high risk. Now that vaccine eligibility has opened up to everyone over the age of 16, numbers have started to slow.
