One person is dead and another is in the hospital after a crash near Cadillac in Wexford County. It happened Wednesday night on M-115 near the US-131 South on-ramp. Information is limited at this time, but Michigan State Police say the driver was thrown from the car and died at the scene. The passenger was taken to the hospital. They say they believe speed was a factor in the crash. 9&10 is working with police to provide more details on this deadly crash.

A Wexford County man is behind bars this morning after stealing a truck and leading police on a chase. Wexford County police say they were called to the Wexford Civic Center in Cadillac around 12:15 Wednesday afternoon. That’s where they say a man stole a Silver Dodge pickup truck in the parking lot. Just a few minutes later, deputies spotted him driving on Plett Road near 13th Street. He led police on a chase down M-55 South all the way into Missaukee County.

President Biden wants 70% of eligible adults in the U.S. to get at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine by the Fourth of July. Governor Whitmer announced the same vaccination goal for Michigan. Michigan has worked hard to get as many eligible people vaccinated as possible. The state quickly vaccinated the first eligible groups like the elderly, healthcare workers and people at high risk. Now that vaccine eligibility has opened up to everyone over the age of 16, numbers have started to slow.
