SEATTLE, Wash. — Seattle police arrested a woman yesterday, Aug. 23, after a boy was found dead. According to SPD, officers were sent to the 2200 block of Grand Street around 12:30 p.m. to investigate reports of an unresponsive child. Upon arriving at the scene, officers located the boy. Seattle Fire Department medics immediately began to try and save his life, but he passed away. Police then arrested a woman for domestic violence manslaughter.
Northbound I-405 closure in Kirkland expected to cause major delays
KIRKLAND, Wash. — People traveling through Kirkland along the I-405 corridor should prepare for significant delays for four days this month. According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, crews will dig out a section of the freeway to install a concrete culvert to reconnect the fish passage beneath northbound I-405 to the section under southbound I-405 that was built during a full closure in July.

MONROE, Wash. — The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office rescued a man accused of setting his own home on fire while experiencing a mental health crisis. The man, in his 60s, called 911 and said he had a gun and thought he’d shot someone inside his home. 847 pounds of khat seized at BWI airport
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said it seized hundreds of pounds of the illegal drug khat at Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport earlier this month. The agency said that it discovered 847 pounds of khat from two U.S. citizens who had come to the country from London on Aug. 13. The seizure was in addition to the 412 pounds that were also found at BWI days before.
