Convicted felon arrested in Tukwila after police find alleged stolen gun, drugs
TUKWILA, Wash. — A convicted felon was arrested in Tukwila after police found a stolen handgun, drugs, and counterfeit cash during a weekend investigation. The Tukwila Police Department said officers responded Saturday, Sept. 13, to a report of two people slumped over inside a vehicle along Strander Boulevard. Officers found drug paraphernalia in plain view and were able to wake both occupants. During a pat-down, police discovered a handgun on the man sitting in the driver’s seat.
Agreement reached for Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery antitrust lawsuit
A deal has been struck to clear the final hurdle in Paramount Skydance’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. Several state attorneys general, led by California’s Rob Bonta, sued Paramount in July, saying that the mega entertainment corporation would have put too much power over cable TV and films under one company, The New York Times reported. He had been undergoing treatment for a rare adrenal cancer since 2021 and had returned to the stage about three months ago after having emergency brain cancer surgery, People magazine reported.
Up to 30 shots fired after man opened fire on officer outside Ontario synagogue
BELLEVILLE, Ontario — A 29-year-old man armed with a shotgun opened fire on a police officer stationed outside an Ontario synagogue during Yom Kippur, triggering a shootout involving as many as 30 shots, the province's police watchdog said Monday. The gunfire left the man with life-threatening injuries and seriously wounded a veteran of the Belleville Police Service, whose condition had stabilized as he recovered in intensive care.
