ST. PETERSBURG — What the Yankees initially described as a setback for Giancarlo Stanton turned out to be an entirely new injury. The designated hitter has been on the injured list and hasn’t played since April 24 due to a low-grade calf strain. Last month, Aaron Boone said that Stanton suffered a setback in his on-again, off-again rehab. However, Brian Cashman said Thursday that Stanton actually sustained a new calf strain in a similar spot.

ST. PETERSBURG — Aaron Judge is going to have his fractured first right rib reimaged over the All-Star break, Brian Cashman said Thursday at Tropicana Field. However, the general manager is tempering his expectations when it comes to the results. “I don’t think we’re anticipating it’s coming back clean,” Cashman said.
