Abstract The interactions among ice, ocean, and seafloor in Antarctic grounding zones hold major implications for global sea level rise over the coming century and beyond. Meltwater buoyancy means that grounding zone conditions influence basal boundary layer throughout the entire cavity. Because of the difficulty of direct access, grounding zone ocean environments have been sampled only a handful of times and then usually only as a brief data snapshot.

Abstract The Ross Ice Shelf buttresses ice draining from both East and West Antarctica and its collapse could accelerate the loss of inland ice sheets, rapidly raising sea level. Documenting the location, timing and rate of past glacial retreat can help reveal processes driving rapid mass loss, informing projections of ice sheet responses to a warming climate.

Anglican Spirituality An Introduction By Greg Peters Cascade Books, 108 pages, $32 On the cover of Introduction to Anglican Spirituality, the publishers have reproduced a late medieval illumination of the adoration of the sacrament, shown on an altar in a monstrance. It is a lovely and interesting image, but its relation to Anglican spirituality is not obvious, nor is any explanation of its relevance forthcoming.
