1 Introduction Tinea pedis is a common superficial fungal skin infection [1], usually caused by the dermatophytes Trichophyton (T.) rubrum through indirect contact [2]. The symptoms include pain and itchiness. Treatment is generally available as over-the-counter (OTC) products at pharmacies in most European countries [3]. The staff provides guidance based on a short history, and only OTC drugs can be recommended [4].
