1 Introduction Tinea pedis, commonly known as athlete's foot, is a superficial fungal infection primarily caused by the dermatophyte Trichophyton (T.) rubrum [1-3]. While it predominantly affects adults, its prevalence in children is not negligible [1, 4]. Since the 1960s, an increase in pediatric tinea pedis in Israel has been reported [5], with a similar recent trend observed for onychomycosis among children [6].
