Dear Rep. Fedorchak, Sen. Hoeven and Sen. Cramer, We are shocked and dismayed that the Trump Administration has suspended the Voice of America (VOA) broadcasts around the world and defunded the parent organization that operates it. We are shocked and dismayed that we hear not a peep of protest from your offices about shattering this decades-old, non-partisan news source for the world.

Last Pearl Harbor fighter plane that still flies a historical highlight at Stow's Collings Foundation

On Dec. 7, 1941, when so many of the airplanes and ships at Pearl Harbor were destroyed by the Japanese in Honolulu, one fighter plane began a journey more than halfway across the earth and eventually finding a home in a museum here. At the American Heritage Museum, 568 Main St., the Collings Foundation has a Curtiss P-40B Tomahawk fighter plane that was at Pearl Harbor on that Day of Infamy 79 years ago.
