Gerald Jonas served as a staff writer on The New Yorker for 30 years, and as the longtime science fiction book critic for The New York Times. He is the author of six nonfiction books, including The Circuit Riders: Rockefeller Money and the Rise of Modern Science. His work has also appeared in Atlantic, The Nation, The New Republic, and Grand Street. He graduated from Yale College magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.
