What the countdown is going to be is a highly personal look at which tunes, from a very loosely defined roots canon, have been rocking my personal jukebox for this past week. The songs and tunes will come from many places, many time periods and many sources, and will encompass traditional and contemporary roots, country, folk, blues, rock and roll, regional and many other styles. Evans, head of the Linguistics Department at the Australian National University, is an expert in the field of Australian Aboriginal languages, and uses examples taken from these languages throughout the book.
