25 Los Angeles Chargers who left their mark in the NFL
Charged with ambition from the start, the franchise sparked to life in 1960, bringing pro football to the West Coast. From San Diego's sun to L.A.'s lights, the powder blue uniform has carried legends, records, and unforgettable moments. The team carved a path of innovation, with the "Air Coryell" offense electrifying defenses and setting the stage for modern passing games. On both sides of the ball, stars emerged, defining what it meant to play for the Los Angeles Chargers.

The 10 best cornerbacks in the history of the LA Chargers
The cornerback position is more important than ever in today's passing game. Winning at the highest level in the NFL is all about passing the football and being able to slow down an opposing quarterback is a trait every successful team must have. The Chargers have figured out the quarterback position (for the most part) but have not had the same success on the other side. There have been a lot of bad defenses in Chargers history, so the list of the best cornerbacks may seem a bit disappointing.
NFL Draft 2024 : Why legendary 1983 quarterbacks are being compared to this year's six first-round picks
The first round of the 2024 NFL Draft class was supposed to be all about the quarterbacks — and it did not disappoint. Thursday night delivered one of the more QB-heavy Day 1s in draft history, as a total of six quarterbacks were selected within the first 32 picks announced in Detroit. As anticipated, the first three players off the board were QBs. After that, there was a trade-up and an all-time draft stunner in the top 10 that saw two more QBs get taken.

Is 1983 NFL Draft class ft. Dan Marino, John Elway the best in American football history? Possible reasons explored
The 1983 NFL Draft class has aged like fine wine. Time is the ultimate determinant of whether or not a draft class is good and some modern classes could be, but they haven't had the time that their predecessors have. Looking back at 1983, though, it becomes hard to see a draft class possibly outdoing it. It's naturally headlined by Dan Marino and John Elway, two of the best quarterbacks to ever do it.

'Cerebral' Tony Adams settling in at safety for Illinois football

During last season's bye week, Illinois head football coach Lovie Smith called Adams into his office and told him he was switching from the cornerback position that he occupied for five games his first season in Champaign to safety. Part of the rationale was simple: Numbers were down at the safety position.

Lovie Smith names Lovie Smith as Illini's defensive coordinator
CHAMPAIGN — Gill Byrd rhetorically had three questions when asked about head coach Lovie Smith assuming the role of Illinois defensive coordinator. "What is Lovie Smith known for?" "How did he get his first head coaching job?" "Whose defense is this?" The answers, of course, are: Defense, defense and Lovie Smith. "To me, we have the best possible person in charge of the defense and calling plays," said Byrd, Illinois' defensive pass game coordinator.
Inside the Bills: Comparing Sean McDermott’s staff changes to his counterparts
Sean McDermott hasn’t been shy about making changes to his coaching staff in two years leading the Buffalo Bills. The Bills have made seven changes to their coordinators or position coaches since McDermott. That starts with offensive coordinator Rick Dennison being fired after one year and special-teams coordinator Danny Crossman being let go earlier this month.

Inside the Bills: What goes on in those 15-minute player interviews at the combine

Asked who sat in for the 15-minute interviews NFL teams can hold with up to 60 prospects during the league’s scouting combine, the Buffalo Bills’ head coach said: “Do you want to come to our meeting tonight?” Although that invitation was made in jest, McDermott and General Manager Brandon Beane did pull the curtain back a little bit on the highly secretive interview process.

So why should 2017 be the season this dubious streak is snapped? Because maybe the odds are in the Bills’ favor. Terry Pegula, who fired coach Rex Ryan and general manager Doug Whaley in a span of four months, is now working on his third head coach and second general manager in just two-plus seasons of ownership.

First 100 Days | Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The hiring of former Cal Head Coach Jeff Tedford did not happen during Lovie Smith's First 100 Days, at least not as defined here. Our countdown begins on January 5, when Smith first walked through the doors of One Buccaneer Place, but he actually accepted the head coaching position on January 2. He brought Tedford aboard just two days later, midway between his own hiring and his introductory press conference.
