Groundbreaking set for Summerfield Charter Academies new high school Original

SUMMERFIELD, N.C. — Crews are scheduled to break ground Monday morning on a new high school that will expand Summerfield Charter Academy from a kindergarten-through-eighth-grade campus into a K-12 school. The new school, to be called Summerfield Preparatory High School, will allow students to continue attending a charter school through high school. Summerfield Charter Academy is a tuition-free public charter school that is part of National Heritage Academies.

Free swim lesson aims to teach water safety as temperatures rise

GREENSBORO, N.C. — As temperatures rise and more families head to pools and beaches, water safety experts are sharing tips to help keep children safe in and around the water. Goldfish Swim School is hosting a free swim lesson in Greensboro to teach children lifesaving swimming skills and proper pool and beach safety practices. Experts recommend that children wear neon or brightly colored swimwear to improve visibility underwater.
