When a friend texted the news yesterday that Sean Burroughs had passed away at age 43, I felt like I’d been kicked in the stomach. Many were introduced to Sean when he was the star of the Long Beach Little League team that won consecutive Little League World Series in 1992 and 1993. He hit 3 home runs and pitched 2 no-hitters en route to the ‘93 title, including a 16-strikeout performance in the championship game against Panama.
