As Summers Get Hotter, the Buildings Sector Has More Tools Than the Air Conditioner Crédit : GlobalABC Record heat cancelled sessions at London Climate Action Week earlier this summer, closed schools across parts of India, and triggered early season highs across the eastern US and Canada. Many regions are still experiencing heatwaves as the season goes on. For much of the media coverage, the focus has been on air conditioning, but for the buildings sector, that's only one tool among many.

A GlobalABC report published on June 12 reviews 2025 activities carried out internationally to accelerate the transition of the buildings and construction sector toward zero-emission, resilient and affordable buildings. The report covers ten years of global action.

Running until 22 May under the theme "Housing the World: Safe and Resilient Cities and Communities", WUF13 brings together governments, cities, civil society, and the private sector to address the global housing crisis and shape sustainable urban futures. GlobalABC will participate in several sessions spanning building decarbonisation, passive cooling, circular construction, climate-resilient housing, and green finance.
