When TechCabal first spoke with Tamunotonye, the 16-year-old United Tertiary Matriculation Examination candidate from Borokiri in Bonny Island, Rivers State, southern Nigeria, his fear had a shape. It was not the exam itself; it was the machine. He had never used a laptop.

Tamunotonye was born preterm. Doctors told his mother he might not survive past the fourth day. She had endured a long labour and had been bleeding heavily. His father, a Christian missionary, was away at a crusade in a village in Bayelsa, a riverside state in southern Nigeria. There was no network to reach him. “My mother said she named me Tamunotonye, which means ‘Gift from God’ in Ibani, because no one believed I would still be here,” he said in an interview with TechCabal over the weekend.

A journalist is a catalyst, one built for change, compassionate yet diligent and follows due process.

Anything well-written is fine. I am not particular about the format. It just has to be well-written.
