trump tells Speaker Pelosi she cannot use a military transport to go to Afghanistan. First of all she is going where he is too much of a coward to go. Secondly, she should just fly commercial and tell him to shove it. Interesting that the woman has bigger balls than him

Efficiency by the numbers
We have talked a lot throughout our administration about efficient and effective government, so I’d like to give a few concrete examples of what we mean by that. For starters, let’s look at how we have better managed our state office buildings and facilities. Since we’ve been in office, we have permanently vacated more than 1 million square feet of the state’s building portfolio, saving taxpayer dollars.
From the governor's office: Making legislative gains
Over the last eight years, members of the Tennessee General Assembly have helped us pass significant legislation – legislation that shows Tennessee will lead the nation in jobs, education and efficient and effective government for years to come. When our administration took office in 2011, we took meaningful steps, right from the beginning. That year we passed tort reform, teacher tenure reform, greater access to charter schools and expanded lottery scholarships for summer courses.

State employees make a difference every day
Government’s job is to provide services for people that they can’t get on their own, and those services involve a lot of dedicated public servants – Tennesseans looking out for their fellow Tennesseans. One of the highest priorities we have in state government is delivering efficient and effective service, and we’re proud to say we have a lot of great examples to share with you.
Gov. Haslam: "Let voters decide" fate of Rep. Byrd
Gov. Bill Haslam would not comment on whether he thinks Rep. David Byrd should resign in light of sexual misconduct allegations, saying the lawmaker’s fate should be left up to the voters. Last week three women claimed Byrd, R-Waynesboro, initiated sexual contact with them while they were teens on his basketball team more than 30 years ago at Wayne County High School.

Adults can attend college tuition-free
Many adults in Tennessee may regret not going to college, or regret not finishing college after starting. Many may have had every intention of finishing college, but life got in the way and circumstances didn’t allow them to complete their education. Then it became difficult to go back.
Opinion | Reflections on Billy Graham's impact on Tennessee and beyond
As I sat in an open tent on a cool afternoon in Charlotte on Friday awaiting the beginning of Rev. Billy Graham’s funeral, I thought back to the first time I heard him speak. My first encounter with Billy Graham was on a warm Knoxville night in a packed-out Neyland Stadium. History would remember that event as the night President Richard Nixon came to Neyland and attracted hundreds of anti-war protesters.

Governor: Tennessee will lead the nation
Monday night in my eighth and final State of the State address, I issued a bold new challenge to our great state: Tennessee will lead the nation in jobs, education and government efficiency. When we came into office seven years ago, federal funds were vanishing and we were contending with a billion-dollar hole in the state budget. We had a 9.4 percent unemployment rate and we were in the back of the pack for education. We have shown in the last seven years that we can compete with any state.

Your vote for Amendment 2 is important
While we come from different political parties, we share a deep gratitude for having served as governor of our great state. We also come together this election season, along with many others, to strongly encourage all Tennesseans to vote YES on Amendment 2. Amendment 2 is the judicial selection amendment to our state constitution, and it is important. Passing Amendment 2 will bring clarity and certainty to the way Tennesseans choose the 29 appellate court judges who serve statewide in Tennessee.
