How We Rate Non GamStop Casinos
This page sets out how we rate the casinos listed on todayuknews.com, what each scoring criterion measures, and where our judgement ends and an operator's advertising begins. If you have arrived from a top list wondering why one site sits above another, the short answer is that every casino is scored against the same published checklist — and the checklist is weighted towards the things that cost readers money: bonus conditions, withdrawal limits and verification rules.
Responsible Gambling
If you are reading this site, you are looking at casinos that sit outside the UK's national self-exclusion scheme. That changes the safety picture in one important way: the protections you may be used to on a UK-licensed site are not automatic, and some of the work of staying in control moves onto you. This page explains what responsible gambling means in that context — the tools that still work, the ones that do not, and where to get free, confidential help in the UK.
The Summer Season: Weather Contrasts and some Heat Warmings
Warmer than average temperatures prevailed across Northern Ontario in early June. For gardeners in the Northwest this warmth was accompanied by generous rain amounts, hence a good beginning to the growing season. However, a much cooler air mass moved into the region in the second week. Widespread frost was experienced in northern communities and morning temperatures just above the freezing point were common in locations like Fort Frances, Sioux Lookout, Dryden and Thunder Bay on June 10th and 11th.
Crust Punk Multiplies After Getting Wet
PORTLAND, Ore. — Local crust punk Rusty Steinman reportedly multiplied at a rapid rate after coming into direct contact with water, confirmed weirded out sources. “Evidently, there are three rules of crust punks: Don’t expose them to bright light, don’t feed them after midnight, and do not get them wet. I didn’t realize that was actually true,” claimed fellow squat tenant Brian “Skud” Malone. “I was just watering my plant when Rusty burst in and walked right into me. He got water all over himself.

Nuclear waste questions continue to multiple
BY GRAHAM SAUNDERS | ENVIRONMENT NORTH GORDON Edwards, president of the Canadian Coalition for Nuclear Responsibility, is on tour in Northwestern Ontario. There are arranged stops in Kenora, Dryden and Thunder Bay. His presentation is called 'Nuclear Wastes - The Questions Multiply.’ Gordon graduated from the University of Toronto in 1961 with a gold medal in mathematics and physics and a Woodrow Wilson fellowship.

C-F Bond Activation of a Perfluorinated Ligand Leading to Nucleophilic Fluorination of an Organic Electrophile
Introduction The activation of carbon–fluorine bonds, once thought to be inert to most chemical manipulations(1) in part due to high bond dissociation energies,(2) is gradually becoming synthetically useful and is no longer the insurmountable challenge it once represented.
Climate change mitigation must target carbon emissions
I SUPPOSE we should always read beyond the headlines. On the editorial page of the May 21 Chronicle-Journal, I saw a guest column by Gwyn Morgan titled “Climate Change Conversation Must Change Focus to Mitigation.” Great news. This person “gets it” — we need to place more focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions which in the context of environmental law and climate change refers to reducing greenhouse gas emissions which will reduce the severity of climatic changes.
Environmental accountability puts work ahead of games
THE ENVIRONMENTAL bill of rights and the position of environmental commissioner was passed into law in Ontario 25 years ago. It established legally that people in Ontario had the right to participate in government decisions that affect the environment. It was a shift from historical development policies that often ignored or downplayed environmental and social costs.
Conversion of haloform to carbonate by iridium N-heterocyclic carbene complexes and silver(I) oxide
Conversion of haloform to carbonate by iridium N-heterocyclic carbene complexes and silver(I) oxide Graham Saunders, Andrew Craig Marr, Patrick Morgan and Hayden P Thomas Abstract The reaction between haloform, the complexes [Cp*IrCl2(κC-MeNC3H2NCH2Ar)] (Ar = C6H3F2-2,6, C6H3F-2-Cl-6, C6H3Me2-2,6) and silver(I) oxide proceeded by carbon─halogen bond fission to yield the carbonate complexes [Cp*Ir(κ2O-CO3)(κC-MeNC3H2NCH2Ar)]. Transitions to winter
(This is a new feature in Wawatay. The plan is to provide a brief look at some weather highlights from recent weeks in Northern Ontario, a glimpse of what could be happening next month and, sometimes, predictions for the coming season.) November is usually included in the fall season. Winter waits on the sidelines until December 21 on most calendars and Environment Canada and other agencies decree that winter begins on December 1 and ends on February 28 (or a day later in Leap years).
Prediction of the closed conformation and insights into the mechanism of the membrane enzyme LpxR
Covalent modification of outer membrane lipids of Gram-negative bacteria can impact the ability of the bacterium to develop resistance to antibiotics as well as modulating the immune response of the host. The enzyme LpxR from Salmonella typhimurium is known to deacylate lipopolysaccharide molecules of the outer membrane, however the mechanism of action is unknown.
Tethering of Pentamethylcyclopentadienyl and N-Heterocycle Stabilized Carbene Ligands by Intramolecular 1,4-Addition to a Polyfluorophenyl Substituent
On treatment with silver(I) oxide the complex [Cp*RhCl (κC-MeNC H NCH C F )] undergoes 1,4-addition of rhodium and methylene to the polyfluoroaryl ring, which loses aromaticity, affording [(η5,κ2C-C Me CH C F CH NC H NMe)RhCl].

Chromite smelter has environmental impact
THE city of Thunder Bay is in a competition with Sudbury, Timmins and Sault Ste. Marie for a ferrochrome smelter and processing plant. Noront Ltd. is proposing to process chromite from its future mines in the Ring of Fire, located about 500 kilometres northeast of Thunder Bay.There have been two public presentations by Fort William First Nation Economic Development and the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission (CEDC).
Nuclear costs continue to rise
THE cost of generating electricity has come under considerable scrutiny in recent years. A recent breakdown of an average residential Ontario electricity bill in 2016 is as follows. The total was $176 per month. About half of the bill is from the cost of the electricity itself. Roughly a third of the bill is delivery charges and the remainder is taxes, regulatory charges plus other fees and rebates.Ontario’s electricity is generated in many different ways.
Pipeline risks actually include sky rising - not falling - Chronicle Journal: Letters To Editor
His glib remarks conflicted with the Ontario Energy Board that determined that “there is an imbalance between the economic and environmental risks of the project, and the expected benefits for Ontarians.” This is perhaps a veiled way of saying “Our risk, their reward” — a key message of the opposition to Energy East proposal. Coun. Virdiramo was trying to derail a civil discussion. However, the “sky” is actually rising. The troposphere is the layer in the atmosphere where all weather occurs.
