The Oklahoma River is a rebranded section of the North Canadian River that’s been reshaped with low-water dams. The dams are located at May Avenue, Walker Avenue and Eastern Avenue (which is called First Americans Boulevard where it crosses the river), forming three basins. Wastewater lines, which carry sewage to wastewater treatment plants, run beneath a small drainage inlet on the north side of the river, across from OKANA Resort. That’s where city crews noticed an issue earlier this month.
