And that doesn't account for the additional 26 races he missed for various reasons. Until Sunday, Stewart had not won a NASCAR Sprint Cup race since June 2, 2013, at Dover International Speedway. Stewart, who has won at 21 different Sprint Cup tracks, has 49 career victories. That ranks him 13th in Sprint Cup history.

Rookie Alexander Rossi wins Indianapolis 500

mydaytondailynews.com — More than 100 years later that distance nearly did in rookie Alexander Rossi, too. Or more accurately his gas tank. Rossi - his car sputtering coming out of Turn 4 - coasted down the front stretch and across the historic Yard of Bricks on fumes to win the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday. The stunning finish was fitting for the milestone running of the Greatest Spectacle in Racing that drew more than 350,000 spectators to Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Rossi, who last pitted on lap 164, gambled his No. 98 NAPA Auto Parts/Curb Honda could make it the final 36 laps without a stop.

Champion City's Swetland cleaning up at home plate and the dinner

Springfield News-Sun — By Greg Billing Contributing Writer SPRINGFIELD - It didn't take long for Champion City Kings first baseman Jett Swetland to do some damage at the plate. No, not the one at Carleton Davidson Stadium. The ones at Reid Park Golf Course. Swetland, one of the Kings' top hitters, has also found his sweet spot at Reid Park's restaurant. "Their cheeseburgers are really good," Swetland said. "My host dad took me over there and showed me that. I fell in love with it." In addition to those cheeseburgers, Swetland has plated a few RBIs for the Kings, too.
