The best books on Christian Nationalism in the United States
By Andrew L. Whitehead Who am I? I have been fascinated by the relationship between Christianity and the United States for decades. Much of my work in the area of Christian nationalism is the result of my personal religious history and experiences, as well as my work as a social scientist. I’ve always been fascinated by how religion influences and is influenced by its social context. Christian nationalism in the US is a clear example of how influential religious ideologies can be in our social world.
A Wheat and Weeds Creation
Jesus once told a parable about a farmer who sowed good seeds in his field. Once “the plants came up and bore grain,” however, his servant discovered that the field also contained weeds. The servant approached his master and asked him, “Where . . . did these weeds come from?” The good farmer replied, “An enemy has done this” (Matt 13:24–28).
The Idolatry of Patriotism
I am thankful to live in a country that acknowledges people have rights to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” and that empowers citizens to influence how they are governed. I know how rare such freedom has been throughout history, and how costly it has been to acquire and protect. I’m also proud of many other ideals America stands for, such as the principle that all people are created equal (though, we’re obviously still in the process of living up to this one).
Crucifixion of the Warrior God
Author: Gregory Boyd Publisher: Fortress Press ISBN-10: 1506420753 Buy on Amazon A dramatic tension confronts every Christian believer and interpreter of Scripture: on the one hand, we encounter Old Testament stories of God commanding horrendous violence. On the other hand, we read the unequivocally nonviolent teachings of Jesus in the New Testament. Reconciling these two has challenged Christians and theologians for two millennia.

Scott Boren, lays out the radical truth at the heart of this movement: the conviction that God looks like Jesus.
Bonnie Kristian - A Flexible Faith [Feature Review]
In many ways, it’s not a new story: the church continues to divide, members continue to find problems with their own local church or denominations and switch memberships, Protestantism continues to protest. In some ways, though, the old story has taken a new shape: young Christians see rigid teaching in one church they can’t follow or deem theologically unsound, and they leave church altogether.

Neo-Molinism: A Reappraisal and Defense
Perils of the Open Road Philosophy Though Scott Davison is sympathetic to a Molinist account of divine providence, the so-called Grounding Objection still gives him pause.

Wonderland | Plays To See
WONDERLAND is on a UK tour, with just a few nights at the equally wonderful New Wimbledon Theatre – an Edwardian West End edifice in the suburbs. To be as full as it was on a Wednesday night is heartening confirmation that a good musical continues to pull in a good crowd, even away from the tourist attractions of the West End. How good was this musical? To judge from its reception last night, very good indeed.
