PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Following a great run with the Williamstown Yellowjackets Levi Maxwell is heading to Parkersburg South. Prior to joining the Patriots Maxwell had sent the previous six season as the head coach at Williamstown. His teams made the state tournament three times and, in 2024, finished as the state runners-up. Maxwell was also named LKC Coach of the Year in that 2024 season. Before Williamstown Maxwell got his high school head coaching start at Wirt County.

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - Tyler Sullivan has been named the next head coach of the Marietta College baseball program. Sullivan becomes just the third head coach since 1964, taking over for Brian Brewer after 22 seasons. Prior to joining the Etta Express Sullivan served as an assistant at Longwood University for the past two seasons and at Eastern Michigan in 2024, both Division One programs. Sullivan played a majority of his college ball at Division Two Seton Hill.

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Clarksburg Post 13 defeated Parkersburg Post 15 in American Legion baseball Tuesday at Bennett Stump Field. Parkersburg Post 15 surrendered a five-run first inning but settled in on the mound after that. Pitcher Nic Akers recorded a strikeout to help Post 15 stabilize. In the third inning, a base hit from Cam Cumpston set the table for Post 15. Cooper Cancade drew a walk to put runners on first and second.
