1 Introduction Opioids remain the gold standard for clinical pain management, yet their therapeutic utility is severely limited by a strong liability for addiction and physical dependence [1-4]. The transition to substance use disorder is fundamentally rooted in the hijacking of neural systems that govern learning and memory [5]. Retrieval of morphine-associated reward memories is considered a critical driving force for dependence and relapse in drug abuse patients, including opioid users [6-9].

Abstract Developing biomass-derived programmable self-assembly systems for precise control of carbon morphology and architecture remains challenging, primarily because of the intrinsic heterogeneity that hinders controllable assembly. Here, we report a biomass-enabled reactive-emulsion-mediated strategy for converting liquefied wood into various mesoporous carbon nanomaterials.
