Association of handgrip strength with health care utilisation among older adults: A longitudinal study in China — JOGH
The increase in life expectancy and the decline in the fertility rate have made ageing an inevitable trend worldwide [1]. In line with this, China has also stepped into the ageing society since 2000, and the ageing process is much faster than that in other low- and middle-income countries [2]. According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China data, 264.02 million people were 60 years or older, accounting for 18.7% of the total population by 2020 [3].

[Establishment of hysteroscopic scoring system of chronic endometritis and correlative analysis with pregnancy outcomes of fertilization-embryo transfer in infertile patients]. - Physician's Weekly
To establish a hysteroscopic chronic endometritis (hCE) scoring system for patients with chronic endometritis, and observe the correlation of hCE score with fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) pregnancy outcomes in infertile women. The study retrospectively investigated the correlation of morphologic features and hCE score with pregnancy outcomes during IVF-ET in infertile women with CE (=429) at Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital between January 2017 and September 2018.

A Testbed Submersible for Robotics Research" by Tim McLain, H H. Wang et al.
Untethered, unmanned submersibles (UUSs) have the potential of becoming useful tools in nuclear reactor inspection and repair and waste-site cleanup and survey, in addition to subsea exploration. Classical "hand-in-glove" control methods used currently by tethered, remotely-operated vehicles (ROVs) are unsuitable for UUS systems which have, at best, limited communications.

Transforming growth factor-|[beta]|1 regulates the nascent hematopoietic stem cell niche by promoting gluconeogenesis
Mechanistically, the classic Smad-dependent TGF-?1 signaling functions through SMAD2/3 phosphorylation and the recruitment of SMAD4. 23 , 24 Alternatively, c-Jun N-terminal kinases (JNKs)/Jun proto-oncogene ( c-Jun ), mitogen-activated protein kinase, phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase-AKT-forkhead O (FOXO) and RHO function as the Smad-independent pathways, depending on cellular context.
Steam Methane Reforming on Ni based Bimetallic Catalyst: Density Functional Theory and Experimental Study of Catalytic Consequence of Surface Alloying of Ni with Ag - Catalysis Science & Technology (RSC Publishing)
A comprehensive understanding of role of bimetallic alloys in surface steam reforming (SMR) reaction and carbon formation on real catalysts at an atomic level remains a challenge due to their different material properties and pressures. We report here a density functional theory (DFT) and experimental study of the effects of the surface composition of Ni/Ag alloy on the methane activation and steam methane reforming, and compared to a pure Ni catalyst.
Cardioprotection of ischemic preconditioning in rats involves upregulating adiponectin
It has been reported that ischemic preconditioning (IPC) and adiponectin (APN) are cardioprotective in many cardiovascular disorders. However, whether APN mediates the effect of IPC on myocardial injury has not been elucidated. This study was conducted to investigate whether IPC affects myocardial ischemic injury by increasing APN expression.
Forecasting Treatment Costs of Follicular Lymphoma: A Population-Based Discrete Event Simulation
Follicular lymphoma (FL) is the commonest subtype of indolent lymphoma with approximately 1,860 new-cases diagnosed in the UK each year. The clinical management can range from immediate chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy through to simply observation (“watch-and-wait”), initiating treatment if/when symptoms develop. Previous studies have focussed on clinical trial data for specific drugs; meaning that their findings cannot be extrapolated to the general patient population.
