Hydroxychloroquine-Induced Acute Generalized Exanthematous Pustulosis
Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) is a severe cutaneous adverse reaction, typically precipitated by medications. A 25-year-old woman was hospitalized with a 12-day history of generalized erythema, papules, pustules, and pruritus. Diagnosed with undifferentiated connective tissue disease a month prior, she had been receiving 200 mg of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) daily. Examination revealed widespread, dark erythematous patches, blanchable with pressure, covering her body.
