INTRODUCTION Submariners operate in a unique and challenging environment that isolates them from external zeitgebers (time cues), such as the daily light–dark cycle (Guo et al., 2020). This isolation, combined with continuous round-the-clock duties, presents unique challenges in maintaining synchronised circadian rhythms (Guo et al., 2020).
