Hasan Oller Arkan (b. E. Son Oller Panganiban) is a writer, author, columnist, researcher, and political essayist; an Islamic political thinker and decolonial analyst focused on self-determination and civilizational studies; Hanafi–Maturidi-aligned.
His first official publications have appeared in Critical Muslim (London), the LSE Saw Swee Hock Southeast Asia Centre Blog, and INQUIRER.net, making him the first member of his FEU International Studies Batch 2025 college class to be published. He also has numerous independent publications on different digital platforms. He writes on nationalism, Islamic political thought, self-determination, decolonial thought, and Ummahtic consciousness. A graduate of Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (International Relations and Diplomacy) from Far Eastern University, Manila.
His broader intellectual project can be described as an attempt to articulate a postcolonial Muslim political imagination rooted in Islamic civilizational epistemology. He is interested in how concepts of sovereignty, autonomy, and justice are negotiated within modern state systems and how marginalized communities assert meaning, continuity, and agency amid structural constraint.
