Emotional and behavioural problems and non-suicidal self-injury in preadolescent children: complementary insights from child and parent reports
Abstract Objective: Given the scarcity of research on preadolescent non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) and its clinical significance, this study examined its prevalence and associations with emotional/behavioural problems, and the differences and complementarity between child and parent reports in a Chinese community sample. Methods: In total, 1,923 children (mean age = 11.01 years, SD = 0.79; 49.8% male) were recruited via convenience sampling from eight primary schools in Tianjin.
Cerebrospinal fluid metabolite alterations associated with human brain aging: an untargeted metabolomics study
Abstract Background: Metabolic modifications underlying human brain aging still remains poorly investigated. This study aims to reveal the differential metabolite profile of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the aging group, and demonstrate the metabolic drift in the cerebroventricular environment of human aging brain.
Lucas: Velis voice of reason among Mass. Dems
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... He may not be the John Fetterman of Massachusetts, but he sure sounds like it. He is state Sen. John Velis, 45, of Westfield, who recently returned from deployment with the National Guard to the U.S. Southern border. So, when it comes to opening the country’s borders, along with other radical proposals of the Democratic Socialists of America like ending deportation of criminal illegal immigrants, Velis knows what he is talking about.
Light engineering in aquaculture: physiological responses of Takifugu rubripes larvae to controlled LED irradiance
Abstract Introduction: While indoor aquaculture has expanded globally, optimal lighting strategies for fish growth remain understudied. This study aims to establish optimal LED protocols for indoor-reared Takifugu rubripes larvae. Methods: T. rubripes larvae were maintained at 50, 250, 500, and 750 mW/m2 (i50, i250, i500, i750) from hatching through 30 DPH. Growth, gene expression, and enzyme activities were measured.

Deep learning-based frame synthesis enables radiation dose reduction in digital subtraction angiography imaging: a multicenter study
Abstract Background: As an important imaging tool for diagnosing and treating cerebrovascular diseases, the low-dose imaging technology of digital subtraction angiography (DSA) can effectively reduce radiation exposure risks for both patients and operators. To ensure clinical demand while minimizing radiation dose, this study proposed SAVE-Net, which integrates deep learning with optical flow estimation.

Metagenomic analysis of antimicrobial resistance, virulence, and mobile genetic elements in the gut microbiota of Caprinae species - Communications Biology
Abstract The livestock gut microbiota serves as a reservoir for antimicrobial resistance (AMR), yet Caprinae species remain understudied. Here, we present a large-scale metagenomic analysis of 779 gut samples from Caprinae animals, primarily originating from China (95.38%), including Capra hircus (79.85%) and Ovis aries (17.33%). We reconstruct 17,023 metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs), and identify 2,440 antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs) and 5,401 virulence factor genes (VFGs).

A molecular-scale regulation strategy for designing asphalt-based hard carbon for superior sodium storage
A molecular-scale regulation strategy for designing asphalt-based hard carbon for superior sodium storage† The air pre-oxidation strategy has been proven to effectively inhibit the graphitization of asphalt during carbonization. Nonetheless, traditional air pre-oxidation methods mainly introduce oxygen-containing functional groups on the surface of asphalt aromatic molecules, which may result in a “trapping effect” on sodium ions.

Call patterns encode and transmit emotion in marmoset monkeys
Abstract Marmoset monkeys have attracted much attention as a non-human primate model for studying vocal communication, but the call pattern and its meaning in marmoset communication are largely unknown. Here, we analyze sounds produced by hundreds of marmosets either in isolation or in pairs and reveal distinct call patterns in marmoset communication. The most prominent phee calls could be categorized into multiple grades based on the number of comprising phee syllables.

Localized Perturbation Load Approach for Buckling Design of Thin-Walled Steel Cylindrical Shells under Partial Axial Compression
1. Introduction As a crucial engineering structure, the thin-walled steel cylindrical shell has obtained widespread application in most industrial fields. This structure tends to buckle when subjected to axial compression loads, and buckling failure is a critical concern in the design work of thin-walled cylindrical shell structures [1,2,3,4,5,6].

Wear Prediction of Curved Switch Rail in High-Speed Turnout and Influence of Wheel and Rail Wear on Vehicle Dynamic Performance
Abstract : A wear prediction model is built to research the wear of the curved switch rail in a high-speed turnout. The Archard wear model is used in the wear prediction model to analyze the profile evolution law. The non-Hertzian contact Kik–Piotrowski method based on virtual penetration is used as the contact algorithm for the Archard wear model.
