LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. (KCTV) - City leaders decide to end a popular Lee’s Summit festival after violence interrupted it for the third year. The Board of Directors of Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street announced the decision Tuesday afternoon. “With heavy hearts, we have made the decision that the 2026 Downtown Days festival will be our last. The safety of our community, small businesses, partners, volunteers, and attendees comes first,” the board shared in a social media post.

Kansas City firefighters fight heat, flames across city

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City firefighters had an exhausting day working to keep the city safe. The department said crews responded to four fires Tuesday as heat and humidity soared. The first call can in around 11:30 a.m. Firefighters responded to a fire at a house near E. 34th and Woodland Ave. The department said crews quickly got the fire under control. Less than an hour later the department responded to a fire near E. 11th and Ewing.

New express shuttle links Parkville, Riverside, North KC to FIFA Fan Fest

RIVERSIDE, Mo. (KCTV) - Three Northland cities band together to help people access FIFA Fan Festival at the World War I Museum and Memorial. Riverside announced the River Cities Express. The shuttle will take people from Parkville, Riverside and North Kansas City to Fan Fest and back to the Northland. There are three stops on the shuttle.
